2010 marks Angenieux’s 75th anniversary.
Since its creation in 1935, the company has known a fabulous destiny. This success story relies on one man’s genius, its founder Mr. Pierre Angenieux who revolutionized optical design methods. Inventor of Retrofocus and designer of the first industrialized zoom lens with mechanical compensation, Pierre Angenieux was rewarded twice in Hollywood: in 1964 for the design of the 10x lens and in 1989 for his entire life contribution to cinematography. In the sixties, the Angenieux zoom lenses filmed the most important television event ever: the first steps on the moon!
