Thales Angenieux at the 2010 Shanghaï Expo
2010-06-30During 2010 World Expo in Shanghaï from May 1. to October 31., the Rhône –Alpes Region has its own Pavilion and showcases the best of what its territory offers.
With this aim in view, the Imaginove cluster dedicated to the strong and competitive moving image industry in Rhône-Alpes decided to participate to the Image Industry Week from June 14. to 20. during Shanghaï international Film Festival and show off high-performance image professionals in Rhône-Alpes Region.
Thales Angénieux ,one of the three Rhône-Alpes partners ( with Binocle and the INRIA) of the collaborative research project on new 3D television – 3D Live, was invited by the Imaginove cluster to give a lecture on its work.
3D Live is an ambitious project gathering eight partners: Orange, Grass Valley France, Binocle, AMP, Technicolor, Thales Angenieux, the INRIA and the Telecom Institut. 3D Live is supported by French Ministry of Industry and involves three French industry and research clusters: "Images et Réseaux" : Brittany and The Loire Valley ,"Imaginove" : Rhône-Alpes ,and "Cap Digital" : Paris.
3D Live began in March 2009 and aims the creation within 33 months of “an excellent expertise in France for the live shooting and transmission of 3D stereo contents”.
In 3D Live project, Thales Angenieux has to supply high performance zoom lenses whose specifications, optical qualities and ergonomy have to respond the high demanding requests for 3D image capture.
