Angénieux and the 90th Academy Awards nominees

On Tuesday, January 23 the Academy – of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – unveiled the nominations for the 90th ceremony, which will take place on March 4th at the Dolby Theatre, in Hollywood.

Angénieux is pleased to announce that among the movies nominated for Best Picture, three of them were shot with Angenieux Lenses :

Darkest Hour by Joe Wright – DoP Bruno Delbonnel ASC AFC, also nominated in 5 other categories including Best Cinematography
The Post by Steven Spielberg – DoP Janusz Kaminski Meryl Streep is also nominated as Best Actress in a leading role
Get Out by Jordan Peele – DoP Toby Oliver ACS. The movie is in the race for 3 other categories :  Best Directing, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor in a leading role for Daniel Kaluuya.

Congratulations to Roger Deakins ASC BSC for his nomination for Best Cinematography in Blade Runner 2049. Roger Deakins received the Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography at Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

Congratulations also to Hoyte Van Hoytema ASC FSF NSC  for his work on Dunkirk  and our warmest thoughts and congratulations to Rachel Morrison ASC first female cinematographer to be nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Cinematography.
